How provable fairness actually works, in plain terms.
About this tool
drand is the public threshold randomness beacon operated by the League of Entropy, a consortium of independent organisations. Every few seconds the network jointly produces a fresh random value and a signature that no single member could have forged alone. Verified Random builds on top of that beacon.
The randomness does not come from this website. We commit your entries and a future round, wait for the beacon to publish it, and then derive the winners. Anyone can independently verify a result by re-running the open algorithm against that drand round — the proof names everything required to do so. This site is a convenience layer over a public source of randomness, not its origin.
Responsibility. Verified Random provides verifiable randomness and the tools to audit it; it does not run your raffle, contest, or giveaway on your behalf, and it makes no warranty as to fitness for any particular purpose. You are responsible for how you use the results, for complying with applicable laws and rules governing your draw, and for retaining the verification code you need to prove an outcome.
